The Nourished Mama

6 weeks of nourishing support for your 4th trimester and beyond

Bring in nourishing support to tend to yourself

It’s not easy to tend to your own nourishment when you’re in the early days of postpartum and figuring out a whole new balance and life with a tiny baby

Bringing my years of wisdom in nourishment, my own experience in postpartum as well as everything I’ve studied, and ongoing studies (currently training to be a postpartum doula) to this container centred around nourishment for you and tending to you in your fresh mama space.

Some words from my coaching clients on how it feels to work with me, and how I hold space for them

"Kiara has a very grounding and nurturing energy. She creates a space where you instantly feel safe to be yourself, without judgement or pressure. She doesn't try to fix you or tell you who you should be. Instead, she gently guides you back to your own inner wisdom with genuine presence, curiosity, and compassion."

"Kiara's presence is gentle, loving and really intuitive. She is able to digest your experience and clearly articulate what she can see, and offers solutions that feel calibrated to where you are in your journey."

"Kiara is an exceptional listener and interpreter of what an individual might present — intuitively and astutely feeding back concisely, with helpful guidance and direction. She is straight to the point whilst also being compassionate and caring. The session was cathartic and I felt very held and thoroughly helped."

Why I’m so passionate about postpartum care and how it feels to be supported in your 4th trimester

Before I had my daughter I learnt so much about the postpartum period and the importance of nourishment in this time. Having a business centred around nourishment, it made so much sense to me and I was immediately so passionate about this, and knew that I’d eventually study further, and support mamas in this precious time.

Having true support in your postpartum period enables you to rest and recover, as well as bond with your baby and tend to both yourself and them. This recovery, whilst not currently common in our western society, is strictly adhered to in eastern and indigenous societies - all differing slightly but mostly with the same principles.

The new mother is to rest, and be with her baby. Her family or village come in to tend to her. The new mother is fed warm, nourishing foods, and the household is tended to so that she doesn’t need to. She is kept warm, relaxed and rested and stays home for a confinement period.

It is said in Ayurveda that the 42 days of confinement and nourishment in turn create 42 years of good health - and that our “modern” approach of rushing back to work, out of the house and trying to “lose the baby weight” lead to serious health problems in the years to come as we get older. This sentiment is mirrored in many traditional cultures who follow their own version of this confinement period.

Though I did spend a month at home, my own postpartum was not supported and was difficult for many reasons, including me fleeing my partner with my 1 month old daughter to escape a really bad home situation, with no plan, but knowing and trusting I’d figure it out.

Now, almost 4 years later, I am ready to return to this passion, and am currently studying to be a postpartum doula. As I learn and practice with my studies I will incorporate more of those bodywork and botanical practices, and yet I know that what I have to offer is already of great value and support to those in postpartum now.

I may not have had this support, but I want you to.
I want you to feel so supported in this time, so encouraged to tend to yourself and also given practical support to actually make that a reality.

A supported postpartum allows you to deeply rest (as much as is possible when waking regularly with a tiny babe)

It allows you to find moments to connect with yourself, and slowly make space to find who you are again in this new form, rebirthed as you’ve just birthed a new soul into the world.

Nourishment support encourages micro moments to be with yourself, to give yourself what you need as you navigate life outside of your heart.

Each week you have space to share and express whatever is on your heart and mind, having someone to hear you, and when needed and wanted, address whatever challenges you might be facing.

Organising your village calls in support around you - your friends, partner, any bodywork or specialists you might need, or even extra help around the house or with older kids. We’re not meant to do this alone and it’s not always easy knowing what you might need, or even asking for it. Having someone to coordinate this for you is bolstering and takes that pressure off you.

"She always met me right where I was... even in more vulnerable waters, she knows how to hold space and supports you to connect more deeply with yourself, while respectfully reflecting back what you've uncovered within."

"She held space to allow me to actually confront those things head on, allowed me to be vulnerable and held such a safe space for me to do so."
